Wild Bunch achieves over 80% season best times and over 75% lifetime best times during NEWMACS

Getting the meet started with the 500 freestyle, first-year Mackenzie Bradley achieved a lifetime best time in the 500 free by over 3 seconds 5:31.80. First-year Emma Reim had a lifetime best time in the 500 by over 6 seconds 5:26.92. Sophomore Rebecca Rosen bettered her lifetime best time in the 500 over 6 seconds. Seniors Rachel Dorset and Christine Dzialo had lifetime best times of 5:36.09 and 5:40.50 respectively. First-years Stefanie Cervantes, Rachel Dean, Michelle Cortrite, and Sicong Ma all lifetime best time 50 free. Sophomore Becca Chazin and Junior Joanna Goldfarb also posted lifetime bests in the 50 freestyle. In the 200 IM first-year Christina Goethel, Ariel Orr and Sarah Tucker all achieved lifetime best times. Jenny Prince posted a lifetime best by over four seconds in her IM.

Day two of the competition brought even more personal lifetime bests beginning with first-year Mackenzie Bradley who bettered her 400 IM by 15 seconds to a 4:48.36. Senior Faith Latella had a season best time of 1:05.02 in the 100 fly. Michelle Mai posted season bests in both her backstroke events.

Adding to the list of lifetime bests on the final day of competition was Mackenzie Bradley who took 24 seconds off her previous 1650 giving her a time of 18:37.45 placing her 13th overall. Emma Reim also had a great mile with improving her time over 50 seconds to 18:47.10, placing 16th. Carly Mailly achieved a lifetime best of 1:02.72 in the 100 freestyle as well as Joanna Goldfarb posting a lifetime best of 1:11.79.

Junior Lily Seidman had a strong weekend placing 12th in the 100 back with a time of 1:03.28 and finishing 11th in the 200 backstoke (2:16.07). Smith relays also had notable finishes placing ninth and twentieth respectively in both the 200 free and 400 medley relays.  Contributing in those finishes were sophomore Alex Page, seniors Faith Latella and Christine Dzialo and first years Emma Reim and Mackenzie Bradley. In the 200 free relay, first-years Michelle Mai and Ariel Orr, Junior Lily Seidman and senior Faith Latella finished 9th (1:57.61). Also finishing in 9th was the 800 free relay including first-years Emma Reim  and Mackenzine Bradley, senior Christine Dzialo, Lily Seidman, sophomore Alex Page, Dorset, sophomore Rebecca Rosen and Faith Latella.

Smith Divers, Karen Fryefield and Margot Lurie, posted great results while emotionally coping after first-year teammate Isabelle Harper received a season ending injury during Friday warm-ups. Thankfully, Izzy is doing well and is expected to make a full recovery.
