Meet the Captains
Rebecca Rosen
My name is Rebecca, but most people call me Rosen or T-Rex! and I will be one of the swimming co-captains next year. My events are the 100 and 200 fly. I’m currently spending some down time at my home in Harrington Park, New Jersey before I go back to Smith in June for a summer internship. I will be working on a quantitative research project at UMass about online dating. I major in Sociology and minor in Spanish. I lived in Morrow House for my first two years and Lamont House last year, but next year I’m moving to Parsons House. My favorite things to do are go swimming, go to hot yoga, and drink Starbucks coffee! (I’m obsessed!) My least favorite things are dark weather, midterms, and Lipton tea. Also, I follow Gossip Girl, Glee, Parenthood, and Grey’s Anatomy like it’s my job. I am really excited for next season! We had an amazing bunch this year and I know that next year is going to be the best year yet!
Jenny Prince
My name is Jenny Prince and I will be one of the swimming captains next year. I swim breaststroke and IM. I am currently studying abroad in Córdoba, Spain and will soon return home to Ardsley, New York, just outside of New York City. I am double majoring in Spanish and American Studies with a concentration in education and minorities. For the past three years I have lived in the fabulous Albright House but I am very excited to live in a Friedman Apartment next year! This summer I will be living at home and working in mew York City at Project LAUNCH, a project with the National Center for Children in Poverty that helps to improve the mental health of children in East Harlem and Hunt’s Point. I love any body of water especially if there is also a beach. My favorite activities are both dressing up and going dancing and stay home in my sweats with friends to watch TV or a good movie. I am so excited to get back in the pool with the Wild Bunch who I have missed so much this semester and I can’t wait to meet the new bananas in September!
Karen Fryefield

My name is Karen Fryefield and I am going to be the diving captain next year. Eugene, Oregon is the place that I call home when I am at Smith, and I am excited to get back there to see the evergreen trees and the Oregon rain. At Smith I am an American Studies major and I am also pre-med. I live in Haven House right now but next year I am moving to a Friedman Apartment and I am very excited to have all the Bananas over! When I am not in class or diving I like to sing, dance, and be outside as much as possible. This summer I will be in Northern California on a ranch being a camp counselor for the third summer in a row. I am very excited about it but I am also looking forward to the fall and the new season. It will be a sad summer away from the wild bunch and the diving boards, but I will just be that much more excited to return in September. I think that what I am looking forward to the most for next season is meeting the new team members and reuniting with the returning ones!
